Conquer Childhood Cancer Act of 2007 The Conquer Childhood Cancer Act of 2007 is a landmark piece of legislation which authorizes $150 million over a five-year period to expand support for biomedical research programs of the existing National Cancer Institute-designated multi-center national infrastructure for pediatric cancer research, establish a population-based national childhood cancer registry, enable researchers to more accurately study the incidence of childhood cancers and long-term effects of treatments, and provide funding for informational and educational services to families coping with a diagnosis of childhood cancer. eff. 30 May 2008 HR 1553 - 225 Co-Sponsors SR 911 - 62 Co-Sponsors Ride for Kids ![]()
The Ride for Kids® is a motorcyclist's program that is
helping find the cause
and cure of pediatric brain tumors. It also serves as a educational support program for patients, their families, and the medical community. It is a series of events which take place across the country. Click on the logo for the schedule. The Giving Dolls Until they all have a loving home These dolls, both boy and girl, are handmade by volunteers, and each deserves a loving home, not just someplace to go and be tossed in a closet. If you are the parent of a child with a life-threatening challenge and think that your child would truly enjoy receiving one of these special friends, please drop us a line at runtlipski@knology.net. Very soft and cuddly. A good companion. At this time, there is a very limited number, so please don't be disappointed. You can also contact househj@hotmail.com. Bone Marrow Drive You can help save a life in 15 minutes by joining the National Marrow Donor Program registry. Will you help? It's so simple to join the National Registry - fill out some paperwork with your medical history and have a cotton swab twirled in your mouth 4 times. Just think of how many lives (often young children) could be saved if we all did this. Nationally, there is a specific need for minority registrants. Just check the website to find a registry drive near you. |
